I heard it through the grapevine that the reason this song is called Marvin’s Room is because Drizzy recorded it in Marvin Gaye’s Studio.
This song hits close to home – the vibe – the beat – the lyrics – EVERYTHING. This song is special for many reasons but there is one story worth sharing…
Drizzy had the song almost complete but he wanted something more to end it… The weekend of The Juno’s - Chilly Gonzales (amazing musician) was in town and after their rehearsal they decided they wanted to collabo together. I was very lucky to sit in on the session.. (You hear all those keys at the end of the song? Thats Chilly doin’ what he does best..)
Not only was this the first time I met Drake, but it was also the first time I learned something very important…I am a HUGE Drake fan.. however do NOT become a fan in the studio lol! I was wildin’ out because this shit was CRACK … to the point where 40 had to holla at me to control my reactions (what can I say- i LOVEEE thiss shit!!) LOL… Not my greatest moment but definitely a great memory for me always… Enjoy.
And remember.. I’m Jusst Sayin’ She Can Do Better … lol!
